On July 10th, Europe rolled into Murcia like conquering heroes, and by the time the night was over, the Plaza de Toros felt less like a relic of Spain’s past and more like the epicenter of a rock ’n’ roll resurrection.
Joey Tempest stalked the stage with the swagger of a frontman who knows damn well he’s got The Final Countdown up his sleeve, but he didn’t need to lean on it early. The Swedes ripped through Walk the Earth and Ready or Not with a ferocity that reminded you this isn’t just a nostalgia act—they’re still a tight, fire-breathing unit. John Norum’s guitar solos sliced through the warm Murcian air like a knife, while Mic Michaeli’s keys gave every anthem that widescreen, cinematic lift.
The crowd? All in from the first note. When the opening synth line of The Final Countdown finally dropped, the Plaza didn’t just erupt—it detonated. Flames shot skyward, thousands of voices screamed in unison, and for a moment, it felt like the 80s never left. But the energy wasn’t retro—it was right now.
Europe didn’t just give Murcia a night to remember—they reminded everyone why big, bold arena rock still matters. Forget irony, forget trends. Sometimes you just need towering choruses, ripping solos, and a band that knows how to own a stage.
