Músiques i Art al Botànic

If Carlsberg did Sunday lunches, they would probably look a lot like this.

Sunshine filtering through the trees. Cold drinks flowing. Families relaxing on picnic blankets. Friends catching up over vermouth and beer. The smell of freshly cooked paella drifting across the venue. And somewhere in the middle of it all, a band absolutely tearing through a set of rock classics.

The latest edition of Músiques i Art al Botànic at Botànic Cullera wasn't just another concert—it was the final party of the season, and what a send-off it proved to be. Over the past months, the unique cultural series has become one of the most enjoyable daytime events on the Valencian coast, combining live music, art, food and community spirit in a setting that feels a million miles away from the stress of everyday life. Sunday's gathering captured everything that has made the series so special.

From the moment people arrived, there was a genuine family atmosphere. Children played among the gardens while parents relaxed with drinks in hand. Groups of friends gathered beneath the shade, catching up and enjoying the laid-back surroundings that have become a trademark of Botànic Cullera's events.

Then came the music. Acústica Rock Covers delivered exactly what the audience wanted—an energetic, crowd-pleasing set packed with beloved rock anthems and singalong favourites. The band had the audience hooked from the opening notes, but the afternoon reached another level entirely when they launched into Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name."

What happened next can only be described as controlled chaos. People jumped to their feet. Air guitars appeared from nowhere. Voices joined together in a mass singalong. For a few glorious minutes, the peaceful botanical surroundings were transformed into something resembling a rock festival. It was one of those magical live music moments where everyone in attendance becomes part of the performance.

As the applause faded and the final notes rang out across the gardens, attention turned to another of the day's major attractions: the paella. Because let's be honest—few things complete a Valencian Sunday better than live music followed by a freshly prepared paella shared among friends and family. Plates were filled, glasses were raised and conversations continued long into the afternoon as guests enjoyed the perfect post-concert meal.

It's this combination that makes Botànic Cullera so unique. It isn't simply a venue. It isn't simply a concert. It's an experience. A place where music, culture, gastronomy and community come together in a way that feels effortless and authentic.

As the final event before the summer break, Sunday's gathering provided a fitting conclusion to another successful season. There was a sense of celebration throughout the day, but also a hint of anticipation.

Because while this may have been the last party before summer truly kicks in, organisers have already hinted that exciting news about autumn concerts, new artists and future events will be announced soon. If this season is anything to go by, music lovers will have plenty to look forward to when the series returns.

For now, though, Botànic Cullera can take a well-earned bow. Great music. Great food. Great people.

The perfect Sunday lunch activity. And one hell of a way to close the season.
