As the sun dipped below the port, Valencia‑born Humanian kicked off the evening with a pulsating synth‑rock set. Drawing clear inspiration from Depeche Mode, New Order, The Cure, and Joy Division, they blended analogue beats, minimalistic guitar riffs, and moody basslines. Tracks from their debut Lo Que Ha de Llegar (2022) found new life under the Mediterranean sky, each song feeling cinematic—emotionally charged and transportive  . They set an immersive tone: introspective, atmospheric, and setting the stage for what was to come.

Following on - the legendary The Jesus & Mary Chain took to the stage, celebrating four decades of their iconic noise‑pop legacy. Fronted by the Reid brothers—their dynamic still tinged with edge but largely reconciled—the band opened with potent cuts from their latest release Glasgow Eyes (2024). This album, recorded at Mogwai’s Castle of Doom in Glasgow, channels their signature guitar-electronics fusion with fresh jazz‑tinged overtones  .

The setlist traversed their storied soundscape: the feedback‑drenched riffs of Psychocandy, more structured and melodic tracks from Damage And Joy, and the new material that bridges past and present. By the end, the crowd swayed between head-nodding intensity and basking in waves of nostalgic melancholy, remindful of their lasting impact on alternative music

Humanian impressed with their compelling synthesis of ’80s post‑punk melodicism and modern electronics. The Jesus & Mary Chain reaffirmed their mythic status—forty years on, their music retains its visceral power and haunting musicality. And Fran Lenaers rounded out the program with style, ensuring the night didn’t end but rather evolved.

For music lovers seeking sensual contrast—between synthetic atmosphere and harsh guitars, historic resonance and fresh beginnings—this Nits de Voramar night was unforgettable. It was a celebration of past and present, delivered under the Valencian stars. Valencia won’t soon forget this summer’s sonic jewel.
