Aúpa Lumbreiras!!
Forget easing yourself into the New Year. On Saturday 30 January, Villena gets a very different kind of wake-up call as Aúpa Lumbreiras!! returns with its 2027 Fiesta Presentación, bringing eight heavyweight names from the Spanish punk and alternative scene to the Plaza de Toros Cubierta.

Known as the festival of resistance, Aúpa Lumbreiras!! has built its reputation around independent music, rebellious attitudes and a fiercely loyal following. The annual presentation party keeps that spirit alive, and this year's line-up offers a cracking mix of established punk institutions and more contemporary voices.
Leading the charge are Non Servium, masters of Spanish street punk and a band whose uncompromising sound has earned them a formidable reputation on the live circuit. Expect plenty of raised fists and familiar choruses when they take to the stage.
Joining them are Boikot, another cornerstone of the Spanish punk scene. Blending punk, ska and politically charged lyrics, they've spent decades turning gigs into communal celebrations of resistance. Their catalogue is packed with songs made for singing at full volume.
E.U.K.Z. (El Último Ke Zierre) bring further punk pedigree, delivering the raw guitars and direct songwriting that have made them enduring favourites. Meanwhile, Sons of Aguirre & Scila offer a more contemporary collision of rap, metal and hardcore, with sharp political commentary and plenty of musical muscle.
There's more to come from Envidia Kotxina, whose street-level punk rock has earned them a dedicated following, while Periferia represent another generation keeping Spanish alternative music moving forward.
Completing the bill are Manifa, bringing their irreverent take on politically minded punk, and Laura DSK, adding another distinctive voice to an already varied programme.
Eight bands, several generations of Spanish alternative music and one shared appetite for doing things their own way. It's a line-up that captures what Aúpa Lumbreiras!! has always represented: a platform for independent music where established names and emerging talent share the same stage.
The event takes place at Villena's covered bullring, a familiar destination for fans of Spanish rock and punk, and marks an early opportunity to catch some of the scene's most recognisable acts together under one roof.
This year's gathering also carries a special dedication to the memory of the much-missed Salvador Villa. The tribute, accompanied by the words 'Run To The Hills', acknowledges someone whose memory remains part of the festival's story.
Tickets are already available at a special launch price of €29 plus booking fees, making this an attractive proposition for anyone following the Spanish punk and rock scene. With eight bands spanning the history and future of Spanish punk, this is a strong opening statement for the 2027 festival season.
Forget Dry January. Villena has other plans!
