Valencia is gearing up for an unforgettable night of pure soul as Lee Fields, one of the most enduring voices in American soul music, takes the stage at 16 Toneladas on Thursday, 29 January 2026. What’s already certain is that this will be a special evening — the show has officially sold out, with fans snapping up every ticket for what promises to be one of the standout live music events of the winter season in the city.

Born Elmer Lee Fields in Wilson, North Carolina in 1950, Lee Fields has been a compelling presence in soul and funk for more than five decades. Sometimes nicknamed “Little JB” for his vocal and physical resemblance to James Brown, Fields emerged from the vibrant Southern music scene of the late 1960s and quickly made a name for himself with raw, heartfelt performances and a voice rich in emotion and history.

Fields’ career began in earnest in the late 1960s and early ’70s, singing in juke joints and churches, and eventually touring and recording with seminal bands and artists. Over the years, he has worked with influential groups and musicians — laying down the foundations of his own style, rooted deeply in soul, funk, blues, and rhythm & blues. Despite the ups and downs that many artists face, Fields’ journey has been one of resilience and reinvention. While he never quite achieved mainstream stardom in the traditional sense, he became a cornerstone of the soul revival movement — deeply respected by fans and fellow musicians alike. In recent years his work has been sampled by artists across genres and praised for its timeless quality.

The sold-out show at 16 Toneladas promises an evening steeped in authenticity, groove and emotional depth. Fields will likely be backed by his long-time collaborators, The Expressions — a tight, seasoned band whose interplay with his voice has become a hallmark of his live performances.

Fans in attendance can expect a rich setlist blending classic soul with newer material, possibly touching on standout tracks from recent albums like Sentimental Fool (2022), an album celebrated for its raw emotional expression and deep soul sensibility. For lovers of heartfelt vocals, classic groove, and music that transcends generations, this will be a night to remember. With the venue packed and anticipation high, Lee Fields’ performance in Valencia is shaping up to be more than just a concert — it’s a celebration of soul music itself.
